Common Name or Meaning The Small Flowered Cymbidium - In China Xi Hua Lan

Flower Size .8 to 1.2" [2 to 3 cm]

Found in southeastern Yunnan province of China on shrubby and rocky slopes at elevations around 1500 meters as a small sized, cool growing terrestrial with narrowly ovoid pseudobulbs enveloped basally by leaf bases carrying 1 to 4, suberect, lorate to linear-lanceolate, leathery, acuminate leaves taht blooms on a lateral, suberect, slender, peduncle many sheathed, rachis slightly zig-zag, .8 top 1" [2 to 2.5 cm] long, 3.2 to 4" [8 to 10 cm] long overall, 2 to 3 flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, green with purple-red venation, longer than the ovary floral bracts.
