Found in central and central eastern Madagascar in humid evergreen forests at elevations of 1400 to 2370 meters as a small sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with 1 to rarely 2, radiacal, linear-lanceolate, acute, attenuate towards the base leaves that blooms in the summer on an erect, hispidulous-glandulous, somewhat secund, loosely 4 to 12 flowered inflorescence with 1/3 as long as the ovary floral bracts and carrying light violet with a darker violet are on the lipflowers
