Common Name The Andringitra Cynorkis [A National Park in southern Madagascar]

Flower Size

Found in south central Madagascar in mossy forests and wet areas at elevations of 1200 to 2200 meters as a small sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with 2 rounded to elongated tubers giving rise to a single basal, elliptic-oblong leaf that blooms in the later summer and earlier fall on an erect, terminal, glabrous, 6 to 12" [15 to 30 cm] long, 6 to 9 flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, very acuminate, much shorter than the ovary floral bracts
