Found in northern Madagascar on rocky outcrops on sandstone and sand at elevations of sealevel to 200 meters as a small sized, hot growing terrestrial or lithophyte with widely, oblong-acute, plicate leaves that are absent at flowering which occurs in the late winter and early spring on an erect, terminal, 4 to 6.4" [10 to 16 cm] long, 1 to 3 flowered inflorescence with much longer than the pedicel floral bracts.
