Found in central Madagascar in evergreen forests as an epiphyte and marshes as a terrestrial at elevations of 1200 to 1800 meters as a small to medium sized, cool growing epiphyte or terrestrial with 2 tubers, a single grass-like leaf that blooms in the later summer on a thin, bristly-glandular, erect, 2 to 6" [5 to 15 cm] long, several flowered inflorescence.
