Common Name The Boina Cynorkis [An area and former kingdom of coastal north, northwestern Madagascar]

Found in northern and northwestern Madagascar in seasonally dry, deciduous forests or woodlands, rocky limestone outcrops and grasslands at elevations of sea level to 500 meters as a medium sized, hot growing terrestrial or lithophyte with 2 elongated tubers giving rise to a solitary, embracing, ligulate, acute, glabrous leaf that blooms in the summer on a terminal, erect, loosely 3 to 10 flowered inflorescence.
