Found in central and south central Madagascar in scree at elevations of 1500 to 2400 meters as a small sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with a single, adpressed to the ground, suborbicular to widely oval, apiculate, glabrous leaf that blooms in the summer through earlier fall on a terminal erect, densely many flowered inflorescence with shorter than the pedicel floral bracts
