Found in central and southeastern Madagascar in shaded, humid, granite and gneiss rocks at elevations of 1000 to 2000 meters as a small sized, cool growing terrestrial or lithophyte with 3 to 5 linear to linear-lanceolate leaves that blooms in the mid summer through mid fall on an erect, [14 to 22 cm] long, glandular, densly many flowered inflorescence
