Found in central Madagascar in brighter areas of mossy forests at elevations around 2000 meters as a small to medium sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with 2, round to oblong tubers giving rise to 2, radical, elliptical-lanceolate to lanceolate-linear, acute to acuminate, attenuate-subpetiolate base leaves that blooms in the late summer and early fall on an erect, terminal, to 4" [10 cm] long, very loosely 4 to 15 flowered inflorescence.
