Found in central and southcentral Madagascar on shaded and humid banks and on granite and gneiss rocks at elevations around 2000 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool to cold growing lithophyte with 2 oblong tubers giving rise to 4, generally radical, lanceolate-acute leaves that blooms in the summer on a terminal, erect, hispid-glandular, 3" [7.5 cm] long, 7 to 10 flowered inflorescence with 2 to 3 bracts and shorter than the ovary floral bracts.
