Common Name Ridley's Cynorkis [English Botanist 1800's]

Flower Size 1/2" to .6" [1.2 to 1.7 cm]

Found in Madagascar, Reunion and the Comoros Islands in humid mossy, evergreen forests on plateaus among mosses at elevations of 600 to 2000 meters as a small to medium sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial or rarely epiphyte with 1 to rarely 2, obovate-elliptic, oblanceolate or lanceolate, longly attenuate basally leaves that blooms in the spring, summer through fall on an erect, 8 to 16" [20 to 40 cm] long, several flowered inflorescence carrying non-resupinate flowers
