Found in central Madagascar in ericoid bushes at elevations around 2300 meters as a miniature to small sized, cold growing terrestrial with oblong, villous tubers giving rise to a hispid glandular stem carrying several acuminate sheaths that has no leaves at blooming which is in the summer on a terminal, erect, to 1.8" [4.5 cm] long, nearly loose, 8 to 15 flowered inflorescence with shorter than the pedicel floral bracts.
