Common Name The Single-Flowered Cynorkis

Flower Size 1" [2.5 cm]

Found in Madagascar on bare rocks in open places or on mossy tree trunks as a miniature to small sized, cool growing lithophyte or rarely epiphyte at elevations of 1200 to 1900 meters with elongated tubers carrying a solitary, radical, linear, acuminate leaf that blooms in the late spring and summer on an erect, enveloped basally by 2 sheaths, 4 to 8" [10 to 20 cm] long, 1 to 2 flowered inflorescence with as long to slightly longer than the ovary floral bracts.
