Common Name or Meaning The Lime Living Cypripedium - In China He Yua Shao Lan

Found in Shanxi, Sichuan and Yunnan provinces of China in rocky, moist locales in forests and thickets at elevations of 2600 to 3900 meters as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial with an erect, usually pubescent stem provided with several basal sheaths and carrying 3 to 4, elliptic, almost glabrous, minutely ciliate, acuminate to acute leaves that blooms in the late spring and early summer on an erect, terminal, peduncle pubescent, single flowered inflorescence with a leaf-like, ovate-lanceolate, almost three times longer than the ovary floral bract.
