Common Name or Meaning Forrest's Cypripedium [English Orchid Collector 1900's] - In China Yu Long Shao Lan

Found in Sichuan, Yunnan and southeastern Xizang provinces of China in pine forests, on shrubby slopes or in open forests at elevations of 3000 to 3600 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing terrestrial with an erect stem envloped by 2 conic sheaht s and carrying 2, subopposite, elliptic, acute, red spotted to clear green, veined leaves that blooms in the spring on a terminal, very short, single flowered inflorescence holding the flowers within the base of the leaves.
