Common Name The Pearl-White Cypripedium - In China Ban Ye Shao Lan

Flower Size 2" [5 cm]

Found in northwestern Yunnan province of China in grassy places on forests margins and on grassy slopes at elevations of 2500 to 3600 meters as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial with as erect, glabrous stem enveloped by 2 sheaths and carrying 2, opposite, broad-elliptic, plicate, green purple spotted, obtuse to mucronate leaves that blooms in the late spring on a terminal, erect, 1" [2.5 cm], solitary flowered inflorescence with a brittle, waxy flower held nestled in the leaves or just above.
