Common Name or Meaning The Shanxi Cypripedium- In China Shan Xi Shao Lan

Flower Size 2.8" [7 cm]

Found in Shanxi, Sichuan and Yunnan provinces of China, Japan and in forests or on grassy slopes at elevations of 1100 to 2500 meters as a medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with an erect, pubescent and glandular hairy stem provided with several basal sheaths and carrying 3 to 4, elliptic to ovate-lanceolate, slightly pubescent to glabrous at the dorsal base, acuminate leaves that blooms in the spring and early summer on an erect, terminal, pubescent and glandular hairy, 1 to rarely 3 flowered inflorescence with leaf-like, pilose veined, longer than the ovary floral bracts
