Common Name Wu Meng's Cypripedium - In China Wu Meng Shao Lan

Flower Size 2.4 to 2.8" [6 to 7 cm]

Found in northeastern Yunnan province of China in bamboo thickets on limestone cliffs at elevations around 2900 meters as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial orchid with an erect stem enveloped by 3, subtubular sheaths and carrying an ascending, subopposite, green, spotted with purple, ovate-elliptic, glabrous, mucronate apically leaf and a similar bract that blooms in the spring on a terminal, ebracteate, single flowered inflorescence.
