Found in Zaire, Burundi, Rwanda, Zambia and Tanzania in humid forests and gallery forests at elevations of 600 to 1750 meters as a small to just large sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte or lithophyte with an erect, rarely branching stem carrying suberect, coriaceous, linear, unequally roundly, bilobed apically leaves that blooms in the late winter and early spring on a axillary or beneath the leaves 1.6 to 3.6" [3.5 to 9 cm] long, 4 to 10 flowered inflorescence
