Common Name Anderson's Cyrtopodium [Swedish Orchid Collector In Brazil early 1800's]

Flower Size 1 3/4" [4 cm]

Found in Florida, Cuba , Trinidad & Tobago and the Windwards as well as French Guiana, Surinam, Guyana, Venezuela and Brazil on sandy rocky savannahs at elevations of 300 to 1500 meters as a giant sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial with cane-like pseudobulbs with clasping leaf sheaths and blooms in the winter and spring on a basal, elongate, paniculate, to 5' 11" [to 200 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence that arises with a new growth and carries fragrant flowers
