Common Name Friederike Konig's Cyrtochilum [Austrian Orchid Enthusiast ]

Found in southern Ecuador in shrubby montane forests at elevations of 2000 to 2300 meters as a small sized, cold growing epiphyte with a creeping, branching rhizome giving rise to slightly distant, elongate ovoid pseudobulbs enveloped by 5 to 7 distichous, uppermost foliaceous sheaths and carrying a single, apical, conduplicate, narrowly elliptic, acute, subpetiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall on an axillary, from the uppermost sheaths, weakly fractiflex racemes or few branched, panicles 4 to 4.8" [10 to 12 cm] long, few flowered each, several flowered inflorescence with small, adpressed, scale like floral bracts and carrying slightly campanulate flowers.
