Found in southwestern Guizhou and southern Guangxi provinces of China, Thailand and Vietnam in tropical evergreen and hill evergreen forests in shady locales along valleys at elevations of 500 to 1650 meters as a mini-miniature to small sized, warm to cool growing mycoheterotrophic terrestrial with an erect, yellowish white, slightly tinged with red, glabrous stem that blooms in the spring on a terminal and lateral, sometimes the lateral inflorescence are very short and inconspicuous, the terminal, racemose, rusty mealy-puberulent, 6 to 11 flowered inflorescence with ovate-lanceolate, abaxially rusty puberulent floral bracts.
