Common Name or Meaning The Tight Cyrtochilum
Flower Size .8" [2 cm]
Found in Ecuador in scrubby cloud forests at elevations of 2200 to 2700 meters in cloud forests as a medium sized, cold growing terrestrial or epiphyte with caespitose, round-ovoid, slightly ancipitous pseudobulbs subtended by 6 to 8, distichous, uppermost leaf bearing sheaths and carrying 2, apical, elliptic to ovate, acute, conduplicate below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring on an axillary, erect to arching, paniculate, multibranched, weakly fractiflex, to 4.4' [130 cm] long, multiflowered inflorescence with adpressed, scale-like bracts.
