Flower Size 1 1/4" [3 cm]

Found in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela, Fr Guiana, Guyana, Surinam and Bolivia at elevations of 300 to 2000 meters as a large sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial orchid with cylindric, tapering at both ends, 10 to 20 noded pseudobulbs and carring many imbricating leaf bearing sheaths with lanceolate, plicate, acute leaves that blooms in the spring on a basal, sheathed to the first branch, 13" [32 cm] long, paniculate, many flowered inflorescence that arises with a newly emerging pseudobulb.

This species requires a dry winter, as the leaves yellow and fall, slow up watering and fertilizer for a couple of months. Resume regular treatment as the new growth appears in the late spring
