Common Name Witeck's Cyrtopodium [Brazilian Forestry Engineer and Professor in Brazil current]

Flower Size 1.2" [3 cm]

Found Rio Grande do Sul state of Brazil at elevations around 270 meters as a small sized, cool growing lithoterrestrial with completely buried, ovoid pseudobulbs carrying 5, coriaceous, plicate, oblong-lanceolate leaves that blooms in the spring on an erect, racemose, to 12" [30 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence carrying fragrant flowers.

Similar to C brandonianum but differs mostly in the plant morphology, C brandonanum has clustered, short, oval-elongate pseudobulbs never completely buried in the ground and carrying linear-lanceolate, acuminate, plicate leaves while C witeckii has completely buried, ovoid pseudobulbs carrying 5, coriaceous, plicate, oblong-lanceolate leaves
