Common Name Kidney Shaped Cyrtostylis - Common Gnat Orchid - The Oblong Gnat Orchid

Flower Size 1" [2.5 cm]

Found in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and New Zealand in scrub and light forests as a miniature sized, cold to cool growing terrestrial species occuring in moist soil in sclerophyll forest at elevations of 20 to 1000 meters, with a globose tuber giving rise to a single, entire, orbicular-cordate, bluish to greyish green leaf and blooms on a terminal, erect, one to several flowered, racemose inflorescence that occurs in the late winter and spring.
