Common Name The Light Brown Cyrtochilum
Flower Size to 3" [to 7.5 cm]
Found in Narino Colombia, Ecuador and Peru in upper, wet montane forests at elevations of 2400 to 3200 meters as a medium sized, cold growing epiphyte on trees in pastures and terrestrial in cloud forests with ovoid, compressed pseudobulbs that become sulcate with age and enveloped basally by imbricating, distichous sheaths with the uppermost being leaf-bearing that carry soft textured, narrowly elliptic-oblong, acute leaves and blooms in the winter and spring on an axillary, erect peduncle, 4' [120 cm] long, paniculate, arching, several branched, each branch loosely 3 to 5 flowered, to 50 flowered inflorescence arising on a mature pseudobulb through the axil of a basal sheath.
