Common Name Ruiz's Cyrtochilum [Peruvian orchid enthusiast current]

Found in Cajamarca Peru at elevations around 2700 meters as a large sized, cold growing epiphtye or terrestrial with caespitose, ovoid pseudobulbs enveloped basally by distichous, floiaceous sheaths and carrying 1 to 2, obovate, obtuse to acuminate, conduplicate below into the subpetiolate base leaves that blooms in the winter on an axillary, erect then wiry, flexuous, paniculate, 40" to [1 m] long, widely spaced, few flowered side branches, many flowered inflorescence with adpressed, involute, cucullate floral bracts and carrying stellate to slightly campanulate, showy flowers.
