Common Name Hendrik Verstraete's Cyrtochilum [Belgian Orchid Nuseryman current]

Found in Venezuela without locality as a cold growing epiphyte with a creeping, bracteate rhizome giving rise to distant, elongate ovoi pseudobulbs envelope dbasally by 9 to 10 distichous, foliaceous sheaths and carrying 2, apical, conduplicate, elongate-elliptic, narrowly acute to acuminate, subpetiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring in cultivation on an axillary, from the uppermost sheath, wiry, 12'2" [to 365 cm] long overall, paniculate, distantly few branched, each few flowered, several flowered inflorescence.
Differs most from C falcipetalum in the broader and more developed lip callus and a broadly angular, campanulate anther cap C falcipetalum has a smaller and less developed lip callus and a more globular, campanulate anther cap.
The C falcipetalum group consists of C detortum, pozoi, lamelligerum, verstraeteanum and C falcipetalum.
