Common Name Villena's Cyrtochilum [Villena family, who own and operate orchid nursery Agroriente in Moyobamba, Peru current]

Flower Size 1.6" [4 cm]

Found in Peru, south of Moyobambe, as a medium sized, cool growing epiphyte with an ascending rhizome, carrying ovoid, slightly compressed pseudobulbs enveloped basally by several, imbricating leaf-bearing sheaths and carrying 2 linear, acute, conduplicate below into the petiole-like base leaves that blooms on a basal, through the axil of the basal sheaths, 6.6' [2 meters] long, paniculate inflorescence with short, 3 to 5 flowered, slightly fractiflex branches and broadly ovate, acute-acuminate, carinate, floral bracts.

Similar to C leopoldianum but differs in the lip shape and the callus.

Similar to C volubile but differs in the different colors, shorter sepal claws and a differently shaped callus.
