Found in New Guinea at elevations around 250 meters as a mini-miniature to miniature sized, hot growing, mycoheterotrophic terrestrial with a decumbent, cauliform rhizome giving rise to an erect, strict to substrict, leafless, terete, glabrous stem carrying about 6, more or less distant, acute to subacute sheaths that blooms in the fall on an erect, 1.2" [3 cm] long, densely 4 to 8 flowered inflorescence with erect-patent, ovate, acuminate, glabrous, slightly longer than the ovary floral bracts.

Schlechter states that the stem, the sheaths as well as the bracts are a pale yellowish white and the flowers are pale brownish with white tips.
