Found in Northern Greece in full sun to mid shade in marshy hollows, stream banks and seepages at elevations of 1000 to 1800 meters as a small to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with 3 to 6, cauline, often densely spotted, lanceolate, obliquely erect, keeled and then spreading, broadest towards the middle leaves that blooms in the later spring on an erect, 1.2 to 3.6" [3 to 9 cm] long, dense to near lax 6 to 25 flowered inflorescence with washed purple, as long as the flower floral bracts.
