Found in Greece and the eastern Aegean Islands in marshy depressions, seepages and stream banks in full sun at elevations of 600 to 1700 meters as a small to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with 5 to 9, erect, cauline, unspotted t ofinely spotted in the upper half, lanceolate, slightly keeled and then flat, broadest towards the middle leaves with the uppermost 1 to 3 being bract-like that blooms in the late spring and early summer on an erect, rather dense, elongate, 2 to 5" [5 to 12.5 cm] long, 15 to 50 flowered inflorescence with bracts that are shorter than the flowers
