Common Name The Southern Marsh Orchid - The Neglected Dactylorhiza
Flower Size 2/3" [2.2 cm]
Commonly called the southern marsh orchid, it hails from Great Britain, Norway, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany and Denmark in marshes, dune slacks and damp meadows as a small to giant sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with a hollow stem carrying 5 to 9, cauline, unspotted lanceolate, green leaves that blooms in the late spring and early summer on a terminal, erect, 2 to 6" [5 to 15 cm] long, densely many flowered, cylindrical, racemose inflorescence that has leaflike bracts.
