Found in central and southwestern Mexico under pines at elevations around 2000 meters as a medium sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with near basal, withering before blooming leaves that blooms in the later winter on a puberulent, bracteate rachis 2.8" [7 cm] long, several flowered inflorescence carrying diurnally fragrant flowers
