Common Name Aporum-Like Eria

Flower Size 1/4" [6 mm]

Found in the Philippines, Celebes and New Guinea in lowland forests at elevations up to 1000 meters as a small sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with erect stems carrying imbricating, overlapping, fleshy leaves arranged in alternate 2 ranks that blooms in the late winter, spring, summer and fall on a short, single flowered inflorescence arising from the leaf axils, with 4, large, orange bracts at the base of the fragrant flowers occuring .

This species and Eria decipiens have been proposed as a new genus as they are unique in Eria for not having psuedobulbs but having laterally flattened leaves like Section Aporum of Dendrobium and stems which carry single flowered inflorescence subtended by 4 large, orange to yellow floral bracts.
