Found in Sumatra on Mt Dempo as a small sized epiphyte with a branching, pale yellow green rhizome giving rise to 1.2 to 2.8" [3 to 7 cm] between each, oblong, tapering at both ends pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, lanceolate, apiculate, narrowing towards the base leaf that blooms on a peduncle that is .32 to .44" [8 to 11 mm] long, rachis quadrangular in cross-section, sparsely hairy, 2.4 to 3.8" [6 to 9.5 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence with several, imbricate, obtuse basal sheaths and very short, almost semi orbicular, apiculate floral bracts and carrying fragrant flowers
