A medium sized, warm and wet grower from the Philippines at an elevation of 860 meters is best tree fern mounted as the clustered, slender, basally swollen canes are pendulous and carry 6 to 10, oblong-lanceolate leaves. The bloom season is in the fall and the 1 to 3 flowers arise on a 1/2" [1.3 cm] long inflorescence from the around the top of the canes and carryying 1 to 3 showy flowers. This species needs a lessening of water in the winter and withhold fertilizer until new growth is evident.
