Found in Borneo near Mt Kinabalu in upper montane forests on the side of granite boulders sheltered by stunted trees at elevations of 2400 to 3700 meters as a small sized, cold growing lithophyte with a branching clustered rhizome giving rise to ovoid pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, narrowly lanceolate, acute, basally clasping into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring, summer and fall on a terminal, arching, thin, 5" [12.5 cm] long, 2 ranked, many flowered inflorescence with a pendent rachis and simultaneously opening flowers.
