Found on Mindoro in the Philippines at elevations of 2000 to 2100 meters as a miniature to small sized epiphyte with thin, terete pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, linear, grasslike, prominent midvein, acute, flat leaf that blooms in the fall on an erect, peduncle filiform, 4" [10 cm] long, rachis 1.4" [3.5 cm] long, opening from the apex towards the base, loosely many flowered inflorescence with subovate to oblong, truncata, basally dilated floral bracts and carrying nonfragrant, greenish yellow flowers.

Similar to D graminifolia and D tenuifolium in habit but differs mostly in the lip.
