Found in Sumatra at elevations around 1400 meters as a miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with robust, many branching rhizome giving rise to pseudobulbs that are 3.6" [9 cm] apart and carrying a single, apical, lanceolate-elliptic, acute, abruptly contracted below into the short petiolate base leaf that blooms on an erect, arising from the nodes of the rhizome, peduncle with many imbricate, red brown spotted bracts, the rachis quadrangular in cross-section, flattened, densely hairy, to 4" [10 cm] long, laxly many flowered inflorescence .
