Found in Sulawesi at elevations of 1000 to 1400 meters as a medium sized, cool growing epiphyte with more or less clustered, whitish green to mid green, fusiform, thickest below the middle, often curved pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, oblanceolate, convolute, acute to obtuse, 7 to 9 distinct nerved, narrowling below intothe channeled, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on n erect then arching, synanthous, racemose, slender, terete, subglabrous, 6 to 15.1" [15 to 37.6 cm] long, lax, 20 to many flowered inflorescence with persistent, glumaceous, ellipsoid, acute to acuminate, many veined, finely setose floral bracts and carrying resupinate, nodding, fragrant flowers
