Common Name Surat's Dendrochilum [Indonesian Guide and coolector of the type current]

Found in Sabah Borneo in upper montane forests on exposed branches and twigs at elevations around 2400 to 2500 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with .24 to .32" [6 to 8 mm] between each ovate, plum purple pseudobulbs carrying a single, linear-elliptic to ligulate, obtuse, slightly constricted below the apex, attenuate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the late spring on an erect, peduncle 1.08 to 1.6" [2.7 to 4 cm] long, erect, filiform rachis .64 to .88" [1.6 to 2.2 cm] long, curved, quadrangular, sparsely ramentaceous, opening from the top towards the bottom, 5 to 8 flowered inflorescence with ovate-elliptic, more or less truncate apically, with a small central tooth, involute, sparsely ramentaceous, as long as the ovary floral bracts and carrying resupinate,yellow flowers flushed with plum purple.
