Common Name The Javier Dendrochilum [An Area of Leyte Philippines or Philippine Orchid Nurseryman 1900's]
Flower Size 1/2" [1.2 cm]
Found in the Philippines in mossy cloud forests at elevations above 1200 meters in bright light as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with tapered pseudobulbs carrying leathery leaves that blooms in the winter on an arching, racemose inflorescence that arises on a new growth with the flowers crowded on the upper 1/3.
Cootes states that this species was actually described for Mr Elias Javier a personal friend of the authors and should be D javieri. Kew changed this to D javierianum because of latin nomenclature rules.
