Common Name Joclemens' Dendrochilum [American Chaplain Joseph Clemens later 1800/earlier 1900's - Orchid Collector on Mt Kinabalu]

Found in northern Borneo as a twig epiphyte in lower montane ridge forests and on mossy roadbanks at elevations of 1000 to 2000 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte or terrestrial with a shortly creeping, clump forming rhizome giving rise to crowded, subfusiform, smooth, becoming rugulose, green pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, slender, sulcate, linear, obtuse, apiculate to shortly acute, 3 main nerved, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the late winter and early spring on an erect to gently curving, peduncle slender, .88" to 1.6" [2.2 to 4 cm] long, greenish orange, rachis quadrangular, 1.4 to 2.2" [4 to 5.5 cm] long, salmon pink, laxly few to about 24 flowered inflorescence with narrowly elliptic, acute floral bracts and carrying unscented flowers that open from the top of the inflorescence down.
