Common Name Krause's Dendrochilum

Found in northern Sumatra in the Tupanuli area at elevations around 800 to 1200 meters as a miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with a short rhizome giving rise to close set, narrowly ovoid to terete pseudobulbs carrying a single, erect, narrowly lanceolate, subacute, narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms on a very thin, arising with the leaf, curved, nodding, dense, to 9.6" [24 cm] long, 2 ranked, many flowered inflorescence with ovate-elliptic, acute to shortly acuminate, somewhat longer then the ovary floral bracts.
Comber stated that this species was close toD longifolium but that the side lobes were distinct as well as being erose.
