Found in Sumatra in forests at elevations around 1600 meters as a mini-miniature to miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with a branching rhizome giving rise to terete, to 2.6" [6.5 cm] apart, somewhat at an angle to the rhizome pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, elliptic-oblong to lanceolate, narrowly obtuse, apiculate, petiolate base leaf that blooms on a thin peduncle, 2.2 to 2.6" [5.5 to 7 cm] long, arising with the leaves on immature pseudobulbs, rachis nodding, quadrangular, , partly minutely hairy, to 3.6" [9 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence carrying light brown, wide open flowers
