Found in Sumatra in montane forests at elevations of 1600 to 2400 meters as a medium sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with narrowly cylindrical pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, linear-lanceolate, acute, 9 to 11 nerved, narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall on a 1.6 to 3.2" [4 to 8 cm] peduncle, laxly many flowered inflorescence
