Common Name Mearns' Dendrochilum [American Collector of the type 1900's]

Found on Mindanao in the Philippines at elevations up to 3000 meters as a miniature to small sized, cold growing epiphyte with spindle-shaped pseudobulbs carrying oblong-lanceolate, nearly acute, slender petiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring and early summer on a racemose, slender, peduncle 3.2 to 4.4" [8 to 11 cm] long, rachis 2.4 to 2.8" [6 to 7 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence with cymbiform floral bracts.

Closely allied to but D mearnsii has a callus on the lip, reduced lateral arms of the column, one nerved sepals and has smaller proportions
