Common Name Merrill's Dendrochilum [American Orchid Collector within the Philippines late 1800's earlier 1900's]

Found in the Philippines in montane foress at elevations of 2100 to 2800 meters as a miniature to small sized, cold growing epiphyte with close set, tapering at both ends , grooved pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, oblong-lanceolate, prominently veined leaf that blooms in the fall on a slender, racemose, 4" [10 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence with linear-lanceolate, 3 times longer than the ovary floral bracts carrying flowers that are large, white or yellow.
